so our car is being a bitch. it's idling really hard when you break and stop at a stop light. when you first accelerate, it's a rough ride. not to mention the noises it's making when you accelerate. ugh! not good. also, a while back we had an allignment since i took out a curb at wendy's. well, they didn't do a good job or something is messed up somewhere else because the steering wheel doesn't line up right. your steering wheel is supposed to be level (can't think of a better way to describe it) when you go straight. but to go straight, the steering wheel is turned to the right. ugh!

for everything that keeps happening, i have to wonder what we did wrong to deserve all the bad luck. it's been a constant in our life. nothing ever seems to go right or not for long.

yeah, woe is me. i know many people have a harder life than we do. we're pretty well off in comparison. but still. when things go wrong - they suck.

enough of being emo.

we bought the kids cheap kites yesterday and we went out to fly them today. (grrr i didnt take the camera!!). it was a blast! the kites actually flew and the kids had such fun. jacob's kite actually broke so we ran to the store to get a replacement :) i got really cold so after a while, i went in the car and called my mom. even from 400 miles away she can keep me company ♥

so besides the car acting like crap, it's been a pretty nice day.

a few people were removed from my friends list.

a few people were new and i didn't feel like we were a good match. though i do like you all, it isn't fair if i'm not reading your journal and what not.

a few are people who have been here for a while. while there was a bond there, i have been feeling increasingly uncomfortable with our friendship. i don't want to pull an "it's not you, it's me" deal, but that is the truth. i'm sure we will still keep in touch but i'd rather not do so here.

i wish you all well. take good care.

**not sure this is correct or not but thought i'd pass it on just in case**
DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809, 284 AND 876 THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY AT&T.

DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809

This one is being distributed all over the US This is pretty scary, especially given the way they try to get you to call. Be sure you read
this and pass it on to all your friends and family so they don't get scammed!

MAJOR SCAM: Don't respond to Emails, phone calls, or web pages which tell you to call an "809" area Phone Number.
This is a very important issue of Scam Busters because it alerts you to a scam that is spreading *extremely* quickly, can easily cost you $2400 or more, and is difficult to avoid unless you are aware of it.

We'd like to thank Verizon for bringing this scam to our attention. This scam has also been identified by the National Fraud Information Center and is costing victims a lot of money.

There are lots of different permutations of this scam.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
You will receive a message on your answering machine or your pager, which asks you to call a number beginning with area code 809. The reason you're asked to call varies. It can be to receive information about a family member who has been ill, to tell you someone has-been arrested, died, to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc. In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls.
If you call from the US , you will apparently be charged $2425 per-minute. Or, you'll get a long recorded message The point is, they will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges. Unfortunately, when you get your phone bill, you'll often be charged more than $24,100.00.

WHY IT WORKS:
The 809 area code is located in the British Virgin Islands (The Bahamas). The 809 area code can be used as a "pay-per-call" number, similar to 900 numbers in the US Since 809 is not in the US , it is not covered by U.S. regulations of 900 numbers, which require that you be notified and warned of charges and rates involved when you call a pay-per-call" number.

There is also no requirement that the company provide a time period during which you may terminate the call without being charged. Further,
whereas many U.S.homes that have 900 number blocking to avoid these kinds of charges, do not work in preventing calls to the 809 area code.

We recommend that no matter how you get the message, if you are asked to call a number with an 809 area code that you don't recognize, just
disregard the message.

Be wary of e-mail, or calls, asking you to call an 809 area code number. It's important to prevent becoming a victim of this scam, since trying to fight the charges afterwards can become a real nightmare. That's because you did actually make the call. If you complain, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get involved and will most likely tell you that they are simply providing the billing for the foreign company. You'll end up dealing with a foreign company that argues they have done nothing wrong.

To the Wise Ones,
To the Great All,
Above and Below,
Without and Within;

Help us remember
that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night
is a single mother
who worked nine hours that day
and is rushing home to cook dinner,
help with homework,
do the laundry,
and spend a few precious moments
with her children.

Help us to remember
that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man
who can't make change correctly
is a worried 19-year-old college student,
balancing his apprehension over final exams
with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.

Remind us that the scary looking bum,
begging for money in the same spot every day
(who really ought to get a job!),
is a slave to addictions
that we can only imagine
in our worst nightmares.

Help us to remember
that the old couple
walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles
and blocking our shopping progress
are savoring this moment, knowing that,
based on the biopsy report she got back last week,
this will be the last year
that they go shopping together.

Remind us each day that,
of all the gifts You give us,
the greatest gift is love.

It is not enough
to share that love
with those we hold dear.

Open our hearts
not to just those
who are close to us,
but to all humanity.

Let us be slow to judge
and quick to forgive,
show patience,
empathy and love.

attention crafty people!
i have just found the coolest new thing! it's a paper transfer technique. you find a smallish image that you like, magazine paper works the best. it should be the width of packing tape. cut out the image, then place packing tape over it. trim the tape not covering the image. then press the tape to the image really well. then let it soak in warm water, or run it under warm water. rub the back of the tape, rubbing the paper off. what you will be left with is the translucent image! it is so, so cool!

small friends cut
i'm doing a friends cut. i really like to keep my f-list small, with those i am close to and feel a bond with. no offense to anyone who is cut. it doesn't mean i don't like you or i think you're boring or anything. i just don't have a lot of time in the day and it's not fair to people to have me on their f-list if i can't devote the time to read their journals and comment.

You scored as Elizabeth Bennet. As one of Austen's most beloved characters, Elizabeth Bennet represents what most women would like to become: strong, independent, and loyal. Of course, she has her faults including a stubborn will of iron and a clinging to first impressions. Overall, Lizzie is bright and lovable...something to admire and aspire to.
